The brief for this two-part project specified the inclusion of the instructor's name and that one part must be deliverable by mail. Choosing a theme of innercity life as a guide, I developed a gift set for a young urbanite. This included a one-of-a-kind sweatshirt, a common fashion staple for this demographic, and a sales tag which functioned as a mailable postcard. To visually represent the urban theme on the clothing itself, without specifying a particular city or region, I embroidered sidewalk cracks in the sleeve of the garment. These function both as iconic innercity imagery as well as representing the relational connectivity that the project assumed and fractioning strains on such connection common in the city.
